In a royally priced partnership fit for a king, or in this case, THE Prince Charles, fashion designers from Politeicno and and trained makers of the local variety have begun creation of his new sustainable fashion line, Modern Artisan.
In a recent press release, Education Director of The Prince Foundation, Jaqueline Farell discloses, “The Modern Artisan project is a unique collaboration that champions sustainability and prepares trainees with the skills and confidence needed to gain employment in the fashion and textile industry, or start their own business.”
With a total of 10 garments made for women and 8 for men, this sustainable fashion line has Charles written all over it. But not just any Charlie Brown can afford it. Prices range from 510 pounds to 1250 pounds.
The Prince Foundation x Net-a-Porter
This collaboration between The Prince Foundation, and Yoox Net-a-Porter was designed in Italy and made of organic materials in the UK by local craftspeople.
Check out this video describing the clothing line:
Vogue reports that the Prince Charles has been something of “an inspiration” to Federico Marchetti, CEO and chairman of Net-a-Porter.
When Prince Charles launched the Prince Foundation in 1989, it was apparent to him that sustainability would be key. This initiative to support and preserve Scotland’s heritage traditions, from its signature knitwear and tartan to architecture, design, and horticulture is what the Prince Foundation is all about.
